Crown Magnolia Court of Georgia

The Crown Magnolia Court of Georgia (CMCG) is a chapter of the much larger International Court System (ICS). With over 70 chapters, the ICS has a long history of activism and fundraising to help causes in the LGBTQA+ communities across the US, Canada, and Mexico. The Crown Magnolia Court of Georgia is the first and only drag court in Georgia currently representing the communities of Atlanta and Augusta.  The CMCG is a 501c3 non-profit founded in September 2020 by Dr. Soren Estvold.

The court system is organized around a royal court with Emperors, Empresses, Princes and Princesses, and other titles of nobility. All positions are elected yearly by the general membership. As an elected member you wear a crown, become the face of the CMCG, and organize fundraising opportunities to patronize local charities.

Member volunteers participate in monthly membership meetings as well as the events organized by the Court. The CMCG is a social organization that also brings together members of the community around a common goal of support for the LGBTQA+ community.

Most of the fundraising focuses on drag shows or drag performers in community events as a source of income for the organization. Since this is a non-profit all proceeds go to our annually chosen charities and organization maintenance.  For 2021, the Court has chosen the Golden Harvest Food Bank in Augusta and Jerusalem House in Atlanta. All proceeds of these candle sales will be split between these two charities.
